Detached comfortable bungalow situated one mile from the busy town of Swinford.
Pleasantly decorated and newly refurbished (double glazed windows and doors, studded external walls) this holiday home is set on the owner's farm where you can enjoy glorious views of rich green pastureland surrounding the house. This is ideal base for touring north and west Mayo and a central starting point for a fishing or golfing holiday in the west. Owners Pat & Gertie are always nearby should you need advice or help with your touring plans. Historically and culturally the west of Ireland has much to see including Boyle Abbey, Ballymote Castle, Ceide Fields, Foxford Woollen Mills, National Museum at Turlough Park plus much more.

The sandy beach and pretty village at Enniscrone, is well worth a visit, as is nearby Foxford Woollen Mills. Castlebar is only 17 miles away with its leisure complex, cinema, bowling, go-karting, shopping and many fine restaurants.

Recommendations from satisfied customers
The house has recently been updated with a new bathroom, completely refurbished kitchen with gorgeous new units and a stunning solid fuel log burner. There is new central heating, new floors and decor and new windows to compliment the whole thing. It was freezing cold when we stayed there but with the heating and the log burner we were too warm! As always Pat and Gertie really are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble, always on hand to assist and have a chat. We have recommended this cottage to lots of people, it is so handy being just outside the town, no matter what weather you can always get in there!

Just returned to Chicago from a month-long trip to Ireland, thanks to finding "Molloy Cottage" outside Swinford. I can assure you that it's a hidden gem nestled in the rolling hills of Mayo with the beauty of the ever-present Ox Mountains to be enjoyed from the many large windows in the Cottage. It's more than a cottage ... very well equipped with everything anyone would need to cook in or sit and relax in front of the fire after a day of touring. Pat and his wife Gertie are also gems. Most hospitable and ready to take care of any needs as they arose. Their holiday house is definitely worth promoting for anyone looking for privacy and relaxation in the heart of Mayo.
Best wishes, Anne Carney
